Tighty shirty beginning

Now here is a beautiful piece of bearded man, damn that's a nice shirt too, a bit tight though.

New year, new me, all that kind of crap, honestly though with the holidays out of the way I can focus. Now cue the sexy sexy picture of the gym scale from this morning.

First off what I'm working towards:
*2 obstacle course races, The soonest being 5 months away.
*Being in game shape if I end up finding and joining some sort of hockey league this spring (big if considering I live in a small town in the south.)
*Getting that beautiful red shirt to fit more loosely, and well all of my other clothes
*most importantly just feeling overall better, joints and such.

What I figure I should do to start is figure out what I'm awesome at, what I figure I'm ok at, and knowing where I suck and should fix, right now. My work out habits are pretty good, I'm lucky enough that I can go to the gym during my lunch break, on top of that I have a somewhat active job. My eating sucks, like complete ass, you can work out all you want, but if you call a medium pizza a personal pizza you're not going to lose any weight. what I feel I'm ok at but can improve is stretching, I've had a lot of leg days cut short because I strain my groin, so stretching and knowing my limits are what I can try to casually improve.

Every Saturday or Sunday I will post up a picture of me in the shirt and of my weight. I will also post up what I'm going to try for the week and give up an honest assessment of how I did.

This week is simple, food wise I'm going to work on portion control and no chips, chocolate, or super sugary snack foods. Work out wise I want to just keep on what I've been working at, 3 days of weight training 2+days of cardio.

Finally one thing I want to put on my radar is getting ready to start thinking about when to get on doing body weight exercises. At this point firk near 300 pounds is not really a good place to put my joints through that hell, but when I go to weigh I can try a couple body weight exercises and see how much strain it will be.

As an add, I like everyone am trying to sort through all the information. The fun part is so much of it contradicts other information. What is tried and true science today could end up being crap tomorrow, and seeings as my body and ancestry is different than yours, I'm going to be giving updates on what has worked for me and I just hope it helps.
